The investor of this contract was the company CAD-PRO - specialists in the designing of technological plants in 3D software. This part of the reconstruction of their residence was focused on the rooms with sanitary facilities, which were originally lined with classic ceramic tiles on the floor and walls.
Cement screed instead of ceramic tiles
During the reconstruction of the hygienic background of the technology company, the classic paving was replaced with a modern design trowel. The benefit is not only a new look, but also much easier maintenance of the entire space.
The final choice after considering all the options was the cement screed - partly because it can be applied to tiles without removing the original substrate and in a relatively thin layer of about 2-3 mm.
Replacing tiles with a cement screed is not only a matter of design, but also easier maintenance of the entire space.
Screed on the tiles
A total of 70 m2 of screed was applied to the floors and walls - on the floor in 3 layers, on the walls in 2. On all surfaces it was necessary to make adjustments to create a suitable substrate: the walls needed to be degreased, repaired and reinforced with bead, the floor was regrinded and self-leveled.
The light and dark gray color of the Microverlay screed perfectly matched the interior with white sanitary ceramics and wood design on the door.
